Dolls,The Blue Chair, and The General Store~

I have lightened up the pictures a bit, they were a bit dark, my camera is finicky like that...
I have been busy making dolls for my next doll sale, so I thought I would make one for myself! heehee
I made her a stitched pinkeep, using the running stitch, cross stitch and back stitch~

I got a 2 1/2 yards of this blue check fabric that I adore! It is usually 25$ a metre, and I got it for 6$/M
since it was the end of the roll, so I reupholstered this chair too!
She sits in my entrance way, and seems content~
The antique blue chair~ crackled and chippy~
I picked this up at a thrift shop for 25$. It is not everyday that you find an antique chair with old blue prim paint. The crackle is fantastic on it, and it is very sturdy. I have big plans for the display with this chair. I put a doll on it for now~ I have seen chairs just like this at the antique shop in Ormstown for over a 100$.

The blue chair will be part of a new general store display, as I adore all things 19th century mercantile.
I love the smell of the old floorboards, the bell as you open the door, the outpost style porch....
It is one of my favorite things. The chair will be incorporated into this display!
I can't wait to show you when it's done!
These dolls are ready for my doll sale! I adore this material, it is so colonial!
So that's what I have been up to.
I have been trusting in God much these days, as there have been many many troubles as of late.
I have cried, and yet, I insist on remaining cheerful.
I will wake up each day, and wait for how God's love show's up for me today. I will look for the good.
But I am very worn down.
Dear God, all I need is a bit of strength, and a break in the clouds. Thank You. Amen.

Jeremiah 29:11 "Fir I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future."

Your blues in decorating are beautiful but 'the blues' in life must give way because He cares.

Be encouraged.

Hi Pam,
I can completely relate.
There are so many things going on in my life.
I try to stay up and stay faithful, This too shall pass, I say to myself over and over.
But there are times, of course, I feel they never will.

Love your dolls and your blue chair.
Your chair reminds me of my blue high chair.

Sending you my hugs and prayers, my friend!
Tam

Oh my dear friend - I will hold you close in prayer - I can relate well to how your heart aches these days....Praying that we both find strength and a "break in the clouds." Your new dolls and chairs are absolutely precious. After living through the "country blues" of the 1980's, I banned blue from my life for a while. Now I crave it again. Your photos are so evocative. I, too, love old mercantiles. My favorite episodes on Little House are when they show Oleson's Mercantile and I can try to imagine what it would have been like to step foot inside. Keep the faith - smiles & hugs ~ Robin

It saddens me to think that you are going through a difficult period, just take it one day at a time and go easy on yourself. Your faith and craft will get you through this, believe me.

Evening! Pam,

My heart & prayers are with you in these challenging times. God hears you and is with you....even when you think He is not there in times of trouble. God loves us unconditionally.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

We all have purpose :o) You are very gifted Pam...a blessing! Just know....be still!...God will bring you through this. Trust in Him.

I love all your creations & I too adore all mercantile & general store displays. We have an old 1800's Mercantile store (a museum now)in this area. Omg! you would love it...it's like walking back in time....the minute you step into the store. Very nice!

Your chair find & textiles are fabulous! Bonne job!

Thank you for sharing & please remember...."this too shall pass".

Wishing you a sunny week! Take care.

Blessings & Hugs,
Marlene

Hi, Pamela:
The dollies are beautiful.
You're right, you can't find a antique chair with original paint anymore. It's a grand chair.
My heart goes out to you, I pray that God takes your burdens and worries for you, it's a difficult time right now for some of us.
I just keep praying, it works.
Hugs,
Susan

Isn't it amazing how well we can mask our personal life from our blogs? I would have never known you were going through some hard times if you hadn't said so. You are always so chipper, so happy on your blog. I'm sorry girl. I will be praying for God to give you the strength to go forward, the courage to face each day when you want to cry, and peace in knowing that He truly is in control of your life and will give you what's best for you life even if you don't think so at the time. It makes me sad that you are not happy right now. I hope you find peace soon.

I adore your dolls Pamela, they are wonderful! Such a beautiful blue chair, love the chippy paint! A general store display sounds delightful, I adore all those things as well! I once imagined us having a game room for the kids but I would decorate it like an old country store with a really cool soda fountain, hehe. Your box of fabrics is lovely!

Wishing for better days ahead, my sweet friend~

Pamela,
It is sad to hear that you are going through a tough time. The first thing that came to my mind is that, the Lord will not give you more than you can handle. Sometimes it seems like it's too much but, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Know that you are in my heart and prayers.

You are such a giving person surely the Lord will give back to you many blessings.

Love your dolls, your chair, and all of your ideas. Thanks so much for all you do.

This is a wonderful post. I can't beleive you found that chair as is. I am so happy for you. The doll that sits on it makes my heart melt. She is exactly something I would by at a doll sale:) Good job. I am glad you made one for yourself. I can't wait to see the display, it will be so wonderful. I hope that things brighten up for you. Sometimes it helps to just cry and tell someone. Good for you for having the courage to keep smiling and trusting in God. Take it one day at a time. -Steph-
